Film & TV House
We were briefed to create a statue which would represent the male ancestor of one the the film's central female characters, played by actor Tamsin Greig.
To achieve this, we scanned a male actor dressed in period clothing and also took high resolution scans of Tasmin Greig's head. Our digital artists then modified the digital model of Tasmin's head, giving it male features and characteristics, whist leaving a family resemblance. The two models were then merged to make make the final digital model to be used for the statue. The statue itself was then CNC milled at life size using our milling robot.
We milled the piece in a high density foam which could then be easily sculpted and carved to allow our sculptors to add additional detail and definition. The statue was then given a smooth surface coating and painted by our in house team to give it a convincing bronze finish.
