We’re looking forward to a summer of blockbusters at FBFX, with upcoming costume work on Supergirl and Masters of the Universe following on from the hugely successful Project Hail Mary.

For Project Hail Mary, costume designers David Crossman and Glyn Dillon created a wardrobe for Ryan Gosling’s Ryland Grace spanning science pun t-shirts, battered Converse and high-tech spacesuits. The beautiful red EVA suit was one of the stars of the show, and FBFX was proud to fabricate the helmet, chestplate, backpack and suit hardware, with the soft suit made by production's brilliant in-house team.
Masters of the Universe, arriving in cinemas on June 5th, features many fan favourite characters from the 1980s He-Man cartoon. It was a thrill to work on two fantastic designs, Mekaneck and Tri-Klops, by Richard Sale. We got a sneak peek at the London premiere, it’s a hugely enjoyable watch.
Supergirl, meanwhile, involved some next-level R&D at FBFX! This project involved every member of our team working on several distinctive costumes, with workshop, soft costume, dimensional print and digital pulling together to bring to life unique and spectacular designs by Anna B. Sheppard and Michael Mooney. All will be revealed on June 26th...
It hasn’t all been about film. May saw the launch of the Sonic Jacket by innovative fashion brand Vollebak. Engineered by FBFX, the Sonic Jacket features 180 speakers generating a range of frequencies - and plenty of headlines! Our team was on hand to help Vollebak founders Nick and Steve Tidball demo the jacket to guests at a launch party in London’s Covent Garden.
Our expanded soft costume facility, located alongside our West London workshop, is open for business. The space can be quickly crewed and adapted for soft costume work of any kind. Find out more about it here.
